Job Interview

Mr. Jesse               : Hello, Good morning!

Mr. Fauzi              : Good morning, can I help you sir?

Mr. Jesse               : I’m Jesse, I’m here for a job interview.

Mr. Fauzi             : Ok Mr. Jesse, We still have some applicants having an interview please be seated. We will call your name shortly.

Mr. Jesse               : Okay, thankyou

Mr. Fauzi              : Excuse me Mr. Jesse, You may now proceed to the room. Please be ready.

Mr. Jesse               : Good morning sir, I’m Jesse. (shake hand)

Mr. Hadhi              : Good morning Mr. Jesse, please have a seat.

Mr. Jesse               : Thank you

Mr. Hadhi               : How are you Mr. Jesse?

Mr. Jesse                : I’m fine thank you, How are you?

Mr. Hadhi               : Good, so please tell me about yourself.

Mr. Jesse        : I belive that I’m a person with good interpersonal skills. I’m a fast learner, enjoy challenges, and look forward to making creative solutions for problems. I’ve worked in computer related to the job for the past few years of my career. I love computers, and I’m interested in this filed. So, I’m particularly excited about this opportunity.

Mr. Hadhi          : Okay, there are a lot of companies out there, why do you want to join this company?

Mr. Jesse            : It would be a great honor to me to be a part of a fast growing and reputeable company like yours. I admire your product. I believe this is the best place where I can apply my knowledge and skills and improve my self further.

Mr. Hadhi              : You said in your CV that you are a graduate of IT. What kind of position are you looking for?

Mr. Jesse               : I have a strong ability with computers in relation to office applications as proven in my years of experience, as a marketing officer. I believe that I understand the computer industry and can add value to your company’s marketing efforts.

Mr. Hadhi              : Great. Can you tell me your strengths and weakneses?

Mr. Jesse              : I never like to leave work until I have everything finished completely. Sometimes this bothers me, but I feel it is important. That would be my weakness, I think.

Mr. Hadhi              : And what about your strength?

Mr. Jesse            : My greatest strength is that have a lot of intiative. I’m always concerned about my company. That’s why I’m always looking for better ways todo things.

Mr. Fauzi               : Are you a team player?

Mr. Jesse                : Yes, I consider myself to be

Mr. Fauzi               : Okay, can you give me an example?

Mr. Jesse           : well, in my last position I was part of a task force responsible for developing and implementing strategies to help other employees improve their productivity. We worked together for 6 weeks and improved the companies overall productivity by 20%

Mr. Fauzi                : Interesting. Have you ever encountered conflict?

Mr. Jesse             : I have faced number of difficult situations. The one that comes to mind now is when I was approached by another employee who was irase over something I had supposedly done. In this case, as with many others I had to remain unemotional and allow the employee to calm down, after that we were able to discuss the sitation objectively and logically.

Mr. Fauzi                : Very well said

Mr. Hadhi               Alright, lets talk about te salary what is your expectation?

Mr. Jesse              : I would like to be compensated fairly for my experience and skills. I know that the industry range for this type of position is between 45-50k. so I would expect something within those parameters.

Mr. Hadhi              : Alright, one last question Mr. Venter, why should we hire you?

Mr. Jesse             : I have a unique combination of strong technical skills and ability to build a long term relationship, not only with customers, but also with colleagues and management alike.

Mr. Hadhi            : Alright, thank you Mr. Venter we will be contracting the succesfull candidate in 2 to 3 days.
